3D weld mesh: welded panels with V folds, sourced to your specification

Last updated

3D weld mesh is a welded wire panel with V-shaped folds pressed across it, which stiffen the panel. It is specified to IS 19363:2025 (Model A) and EN 10223-7: mesh of 50 x 100 to 50 x 200 mm, 4.0 to 5.0 mm wire, 1.05 to 2.4 m high, with a powder or polymer coat. SIMO Securon sources it, priced per panel.

SIMO Securon does not manufacture 3D weld mesh. We source it to your specification or drawing, invoice it to you and inspect it before dispatch, so what you receive meets your requirement. External testing or third-party inspection can be arranged on request, at extra cost. Sourced materials are supplied only, not installed, and take up to 45 days from order confirmation. Send us your specification, drawing and quantities, and we will come back with availability and a quotation.

What is 3D weld mesh?

3D weld mesh is a flat panel of welded wire with V-shaped folds, sometimes called beams, pressed across it. The folds stiffen the panel. Buyers also call it a 3D fence panel or V mesh panel. IS 19363:2025 calls it Model A: panels with folds or beams.

The openings are long and narrow: 50 x 100, 50 x 150 or 50 x 200 mm.

3D weld mesh specifications: IS 19363 Model A

IS 19363:2025 sets 3D panels as Model A, and EN 10223-7 is the European standard for welded mesh panels. The figures to choose from:

Standards: IS 19363:2025, Model A (panels with folds or beams); EN 10223-7.

Wire4.0 to 5.0 mm
Panel height1.05 to 2.4 m
Folds2 folds on panels under 1.5 m high, 3 under 2 m, 4 up to 3 m

A complete specification names the mesh, the wire, the panel height and width, the number of folds and the finish, with the posts and fixings if you want them with the panels.

What sets the price of 3D weld mesh?

3D panels are quoted per panel. The price depends on:

  • The wire diameter: 5 mm wire weighs more than 4 mm.
  • The mesh size: 50 x 100 mm uses more wire than 50 x 200 mm.
  • The panel height, and so the number of folds.
  • The finish: powder or polymer coat over zinc.
  • Posts and fixings, if they come with the panels, the quantity and the delivery location.

To compare a price per panel with one per running metre of boundary, convert at the panel width:

Convert panels to running metres

Running metres = number of panels × panel width in metres, post to post.

Where 3D weld mesh fits

3D panels suit frontages and boundaries where a specification calls for a rigid welded panel, and where the posts can stand at the panel width.

Two other answers to weigh:

  • Narrower openings, against people climbing: see 358 mesh, or SIMO Securon’s ZS-Knot™ 4 x 2 inch knotted fence on anti-climb fence.
  • A long farm or plantation boundary against animals: a high tensile fixed knot fence, which SIMO Securon makes itself, comes in rolls and stands its posts 5 to 6 metres apart.

Flat panels without folds, and rolls, are on weld mesh.

How a 3D weld mesh order works

  1. Send your specification or drawing for the 3D panels, with the quantities and the delivery location. Name the standard if your specification names one.
  2. We come back with availability and a quotation. On your order, SIMO Securon invoices you and is your single point of contact for it, including any issue with the material against the agreed specification.
  3. We inspect it before dispatch. External testing or third-party inspection can be arranged on request, at extra cost.
  4. It takes up to 45 days from order confirmation. Sourced materials are supplied only, not installed.

For a knotted fence worked out for the same boundary, with its posts, use the fencing cost estimator. For the other materials SIMO Securon sources, see fencing materials we source.

FAQ

3D weld mesh questions

How many folds does a 3D panel have?

It depends on the height. In the common sizes, panels under 1.5 m high have 2 folds, panels under 2 m have 3, and panels up to 3 m have 4.

What mesh sizes do 3D panels come in?

50 x 100, 50 x 150 or 50 x 200 mm, on 4.0 to 5.0 mm wire. A smaller opening uses more wire; your specification sets which.

Is a V mesh panel the same as 3D weld mesh?

Yes. V mesh panel, 3D fence panel and welded mesh panel with folds are names for the same thing: a flat welded panel with V-shaped folds pressed across it. IS 19363:2025 calls it Model A, panels with folds or beams.

Does SIMO Securon install 3D panels?

No. 3D weld mesh is a sourced material: SIMO Securon supplies it, and your own contractor installs it. Send the number of panels or the boundary length, and the delivery location.
