Knotted fence weight per roll and per metre
The calculator weighs the fixed knot fence as the market sells it. It covers heights from 3 to 8 ft, the line wires sold at each height, stays 6 or 12 inches apart, and 2.0 or 2.5 mm high tensile wire. These are generic figures, not SIMO Securon’s construction.

How the weight is worked out
On our server, from how a fixed knot fence is made: the line wires, crimped between stays; the vertical stays at each gap; and a short wrap of wire at each crossing. It is weighed as steel with its zinc, from the wire sizes and counts makers publish. The answer is widened into a range.

How much does a roll of fixed knot fence weigh?
It depends on the height, the number of line wires, the stay spacing, the wire and the zinc, and the roll's length. A taller fence with more wires and closer stays weighs more. Ask the seller for the weight of the exact roll in writing.
What is the fixed knot fence weight per metre (per meter)?
The weight of the line wires, the stays and the knots in one metre of fence, with their zinc. The calculator gives it with the weight per roll.
What is the fixed knot fence weight formula?
In words: the line wires run the length of the roll, a little longer for their crimp. The stays stand at each gap, as tall as the fence, and a short wrap of wire locks each crossing. All of it is weighed as steel with its zinc, on our server, and given as a range.
Is a knotted fence the same as a field fence or a deer fence?
A field fence or deer fence is often a fixed knot fence, or a hinge joint fence, whose crossings are woven rather than locked. In a fixed knot fence, a separate wire is wrapped round each crossing, so it cannot slip.
