Fencing contractor in Karnataka: plantations, solar parks and industrial nodes

Karnataka’s farmers contend with elephants, wild boar, gaur and monkeys. The state set up elephant task forces in Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru and Kodagu, the districts where herds come into conflict with villages, and its compensation covers losses to 64 crops, from paddy and maize to ragi and cotton. In Kodagu, farmers have reported elephants, monkeys and gaur straying into villages and wild boars destroying crops. Monkeys raid horticulture crops across the Malnad, and the state planned a monkey park in Shivamogga district to protect crops. Near the Ranebennur blackbuck sanctuary, the forest department has compensated farmers whose fields adjoin it.

• The Pavagada solar park in Pavagada taluk, Tumakuru district, is a 2,050 MW park spread over about 12,937 acres, operating since December 2019. It is Karnataka’s park under the national Solar Parks Scheme.
