Fencing contractor in Tamil Nadu: farms, the coast and the defence corridor
Tamil Nadu farmers battle wild boar, elephants, peafowl and gaur, and the long coastline puts many sites close to the sea. As a fencing contractor in Tamil Nadu, SIMO Securon's crews install its fixed knot fence anywhere in the state once an order is confirmed, with a site-specific recommendation for coastal sites, and fence factories in the defence corridor nodes.

More about fencing in Tamil Nadu
Which animals damage crops in Tamil Nadu?
Wild boar are the problem the state has acted on most directly: Tamil Nadu allows regulated culling of wild boars that damage crops outside forest areas, more than 3 km from the forest only by specially trained forest staff. A 2026 study cited by Down To Earth found 50 to 60 percent of crops damaged in parts of the Western Ghats, mainly by wild boars, peafowl and elephants. In the Nilgiris, around Gudalur and Pandalur, farmers report damage by wild boar, peacocks and gaur. In Krishnagiri district, an honorary wildlife warden estimated 330 villages affected by elephants, which strike just as crops are ready for harvest.
Tell the team which animals you face, and the design is confirmed before you order. Against wild boar, the Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence on its graduated grid keeps the bottom wires 3.5 inches apart, tight at ground level; see the wild boar and nilgai guide and farm fencing.
Which coastal districts need a site-specific recommendation?
Tamil Nadu’s coastline was reassessed in 2025 at 1,068.69 km. The state’s statistical handbook records marine fish production in 14 districts along it: Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Viluppuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Thirunelveli and Kanniyakumari. A fence within 20 km of the sea in any of them, or on a chemically aggressive site, needs a site-specific recommendation before you order; the reasons are under how rated life is calculated.
Which industrial sites in Tamil Nadu need perimeter fencing?
- The Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor has five nodes: Chennai, Coimbatore, Hosur, Salem and Tiruchirappalli.
- The Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor has a node at Ponneri, and its extension towards Kochi a node at Dharmapuri-Salem.
Defence and high-security plants are where the threat is a person climbing: the suggested fence is the ZS-Knot 4 x 2 inch anti-climb fence in Alpha, up to 8 ft, with RTHT™ and concertina coil. See industrial fencing and the ZS-Knot 4 x 2 specification. This design is a starting point for discussion, not for construction; each site is built to its own agreed drawing.
Is there a farm fencing subsidy in Tamil Nadu?
On 17 October 2026 we could not read a farm fencing scheme for Tamil Nadu on an official government page, so none is listed here. Ask your district agriculture or horticulture office whether one runs this year. The farm fencing subsidy guide lists the schemes we could check.
SIMO Securon does not run these schemes and cannot confirm your eligibility. Many schemes name barbed wire or solar fencing as the fence they pay for, so ask the officer, before you buy, whether a knotted fence qualifies; SIMO Securon can give a quotation and invoice in the form the officer asks for.
FAQ
Fencing in Tamil Nadu: questions
Which fence keeps wild boar out of a Tamil Nadu farm?
Wild boar push and dig under a fence, so its lowest wires must be close together and tight at ground level. SIMO Securon's Q-Knot fixed knot fence on the graduated grid puts its line wires 3.5 inches apart at the bottom, at 5 to 6 ft high, on braced posts.
Wild boar fencing guideMy site is in Thoothukudi, near the sea. Can I use a knotted fence?
Ask for a site-specific recommendation first. Within 20 km of the coast the air is more corrosive than the C1 to C3 environments behind SIMO Securon's rated life, so the grade and posts are chosen for your site before you order.
Do you fence factories in Hosur and Coimbatore?
Yes. For factories and high-security sites anywhere in Tamil Nadu, SIMO Securon supplies and installs the ZS-Knot 4 x 2 inch anti-climb knotted fence, with RTHT barbed wire and concertina coil on top, or takes the whole perimeter as turnkey EPC.
