Fencing contractor in Uttar Pradesh: against stray cattle, nilgai and wild boar

Two problems meet in Uttar Pradesh. The first is stray cattle: the 2012 Livestock Census counted 1,009,436 in the state, the highest of any. The second is wild animals. In an October 2024 letter quoted by Down To Earth, the state government said more than a million hectares, about 15 percent of Bundelkhand’s area in Uttar Pradesh, are severely affected by wild animals and stray cattle; in Banda district, nilgai (blue bull) and wild boar still raid wheat, chickpea and peas despite fencing.

Cattle push and lean, nilgai jump, and wild boar dig under. • Solar parks. On 28 February 2025, nine parks in Uttar Pradesh had been sanctioned under the national Solar Parks Scheme, 3,840 MW together, among them Jalaun (1,200 MW), Chitrakoot (800 MW), Lalitpur (600 MW) and Jhansi (600 MW). • Industry and defence. The state is developing its Defence Industrial Corridor across six nodes: Aligarh, Agra, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Kanpur and Lucknow.
