Fencing in Madhya Pradesh: nilgai, solar parks and an inland climate
Nilgai, wild boar and stray cattle
Bundelkhand and Malwa farmers face nilgai, wild boar and stray cattle; a 6 ft Q-Knot™ fence on the graduated grid stops them.
Eight solar parks
4,330 MW of sanctioned parks, from Rewa to the Omkareshwar floating park, and Vikram Udyogpuri near Ujjain.
Inland, no coastline
The coastal exception does not apply; flag a site next to a chemical plant or a fertiliser store.

More about fencing in Madhya Pradesh
Which animals raid crops in Madhya Pradesh?
In Bundelkhand, farmers in Chhatarpur district told Down To Earth in June 2026 that repeated raids by nilgai (blue bull), wild boar and stray cattle are making farming unviable; wild boars dig up fields as soon as they are sown, and nilgai can leap over solar-powered electric fences. In Malwa, the forest department moved 913 blackbuck and nilgai off revenue land in Shajapur district in November 2025, and its officer there estimated 15,000 of them on land with no forest, a risk to farmers and their crops. Wild elephants have also strayed into villages in Mandla and Dindori and damaged crops.
A fence that nilgai cannot clear has to be at least 6 ft high and stay tight; one that wild boar cannot push under needs its lowest wires close together. SIMO Securon’s suggestion for both is a 6 ft Q-Knot fixed knot fence in Zeta Nova or Alpha, on the graduated grid. Read the nilgai and wild boar guide and farm fencing.
Which solar parks and industrial areas are in Madhya Pradesh?
- Solar parks. Eight parks in Madhya Pradesh were sanctioned under the national Solar Parks Scheme on 28 February 2025, 4,330 MW together: Rewa (750 MW), Mandsaur (250 MW), Neemuch (500 MW), Agar (550 MW), Shajapur (450 MW), the Omkareshwar floating park in Khandwa (600 MW), Barethi in Chhatarpur (630 MW) and Morena (600 MW). For a solar perimeter, SIMO Securon suggests a 6 ft Q-Knot fence, with the ZS-Knot™ 4 x 2 inch anti-climb fence and RTHT™ where people are the threat: see solar plant fencing.
- Industry. Vikram Udyogpuri, an industrial township of 442.3 hectares at Narwar, 8 km from Ujjain, is on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, and a PM MITRA textile park is planned at Dhar. For factory perimeters, see industrial fencing.
Treat these designs as a starting point for discussion, not for construction: each fence is built to the drawing agreed for its site.
Does the climate in Madhya Pradesh change the fence?
Madhya Pradesh is inland, with no coastline, so the coastal exception to rated life does not apply. A fence next to a chemical plant or a fertiliser store is the case to flag: it needs a site-specific recommendation before you order. See how rated life is calculated.
Is there a farm fencing scheme in Madhya Pradesh?
On 17 October 2026 we could not read a farm fencing scheme for Madhya Pradesh on an official government page, so none is listed here. Ask your district agriculture or horticulture office whether one runs this year. The farm fencing subsidy guide lists the schemes we could check.
SIMO Securon does not run these schemes and cannot confirm your eligibility. Many schemes name barbed wire or solar fencing as the fence they pay for, so ask the officer, before you buy, whether a knotted fence qualifies; SIMO Securon can give a quotation and invoice in the form the officer asks for.
