Fencing cost per acre in Gujarat: what does your land need?
Fencing cost per acre in Gujarat starts with the boundary: a square acre, 40 guntha, is about 255 metres around, and a Saurashtra vigha of 16 guntha about 160 metres. Against nilgai (roz) and stray cattle, SIMO Securon suggests a 6 ft Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence, delivered and installed anywhere in the state.

Fencing cost per acre, per guntha and per vigha in Gujarat
Land in Gujarat is measured in acres, hectares, guntha and, in Saurashtra, the vigha. The state’s Revenue Department records the guntha as 121 square yards (1,089 sq ft, a fortieth of an acre). It records the vigha as 16 guntha in Saurashtra and 24 guntha in the Saurashtra areas of the former Gaekwad state. There is no one vigha for the whole state, so the calculator offers each by its size. The fence follows the boundary:
| Land | Boundary, square | Boundary, twice as long as wide | Posts, knotted fence (5 m) | Posts, chain link (2.5 m) | Rolls (30 m) | Price range |

Nilgai, stray cattle and pigs: the fence for a Gujarat farm
Gujarat’s wire fencing scheme exists, as Indian Masterminds reported in June 2026, to protect crops from stray cattle and wild animals. Nilgai (roz, blue bull) come first in most reports: Down To Earth reported Gujarat forest officials’ count rising from 40,000 in 1995 to 186,000 in 2015. In October 2026 Sandesh reported stray pigs damaging standing crops in Dabhoda, Gandhinagar.
- Against nilgai and stray cattle: a 6 ft Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence, in Zeta Nova (20 years) or Alpha (35 years or more).
- Against pigs: the same fence on the graduated grid, tightest at the bottom.
- For smaller animals and a shorter life: Pi (10 years).

Gujarat's coast: where rated life needs a site recommendation
Gujarat’s coastline was reassessed in 2025 at 2,340.62 km, and the marine fisheries census counts 15 coastal districts. For a site within 20 km of the sea, or near chemical works, ask for a site-specific recommendation before you order. Sea air and salt are harsher than the C1 to C3 environments rated life assumes. See how rated life is calculated and the fence coating calculator.
Delivery and installation across Gujarat

About 7 days for standard rolls and 30 to 45 days for custom projects, from order confirmation.
Farm fencing subsidy in Gujarat
Gujarat's wire fencing scheme for crop protection pays part of the cost of wire fencing round a farm, per running metre and only once per farmer, for farmers who fence as a cluster; you apply on i-Khedut, where the current rate is published. See the figures and the official source.
Gujarat also helps with the solar power unit of a solar-powered electric fence, once in ten years, for farmers who have not taken the wire fencing assistance. See the figures and the official source.
SIMO Securon does not run these schemes and cannot confirm your eligibility. Many schemes name barbed wire or solar fencing as the fence they pay for. Before you buy, ask the officer whether a knotted fence qualifies. SIMO Securon can give a quotation and invoice in the form the officer asks for.
