Wild boar, peafowl and elephants: the fence for a Karnataka farm
In Mandya and Ramanagara, The South First reported in 2023, wild boar are the farmers’ main problem, with peacocks also damaging crops; the Forest Department’s 2021-22 report recorded over 30,000 human-wildlife conflict cases. In Kodagu, Deccan Herald reported, elephants, monkeys and gaur stray into villages and damage crops. The state government has raised compensation for elephant damage to crops and set up elephant task forces, as Deccan Herald reported in 2022.
- Against wild boar: a Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence on the graduated grid, tightest at the bottom where boar push, in Zeta Nova (20 years) or Alpha (35 years or more).
- Against cattle and deer as well: the same fence, 6 ft high.
- Elephants and gaur are a matter for the forest department’s own measures; ask your range office.

Karnataka's coast: where rated life needs a site recommendation
Karnataka’s coastline, reassessed in 2025 at 343.3 km, runs through three districts: Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada. For a site within 20 km of the sea, or near chemical works, ask for a site-specific recommendation before you order: sea air is harsher than the C1 to C3 environments rated life assumes. See how rated life is calculated and the fence coating calculator.

Farm fencing subsidy in Karnataka
On 17 October 2026 we could not read a farm fencing scheme for Karnataka on an official government page, so none is listed here. Ask your district agriculture or horticulture office whether one runs this year. The farm fencing subsidy guide lists the schemes we could check.
SIMO Securon does not run these schemes and cannot confirm your eligibility. Many schemes name barbed wire or solar fencing as the fence they pay for. Before you buy, ask the officer whether a knotted fence qualifies. SIMO Securon can give a quotation and invoice in the form the officer asks for.
