Nilgai, wild boar and stray cattle: the fence for a Madhya Pradesh farm
In Chhatarpur, Bundelkhand, Down To Earth reported in June 2026, wild boar dig up the fields as soon as sowing is done. Once the crop grows, cattle and nilgai move in, and nilgai often leap over solar-powered electric fences. In Shajapur the forest department estimated about 15,000 blackbuck and nilgai on revenue land, and in 2025 herded 913 of them into enclosures for relocation.
- Against nilgai and stray cattle: a 6 ft Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence, in Zeta Nova (20 years) or Alpha (35 years or more).
- Against wild boar: the same fence on the graduated grid, tightest at the bottom.
- Elephants, which have crossed into Mandla district from Chhattisgarh, are a matter for the forest department’s own measures.

Madhya Pradesh has no coastline, so the sea does not shorten a fence’s life here. The rated lives above apply in C1 to C3 environments with correct installation; near chemical works or heavy industry, ask for a site-specific recommendation. See how rated life is calculated.

Farm fencing subsidy in Madhya Pradesh
On 17 October 2026 we could not read a farm fencing scheme for Madhya Pradesh on an official government page, so none is listed here. Ask your district agriculture or horticulture office whether one runs this year. The farm fencing subsidy guide lists the schemes we could check.
SIMO Securon does not run these schemes and cannot confirm your eligibility. Many schemes name barbed wire or solar fencing as the fence they pay for. Before you buy, ask the officer whether a knotted fence qualifies. SIMO Securon can give a quotation and invoice in the form the officer asks for.
