Fencing cost calculator for India: work out posts, rolls and your price
The SIMO Securon fencing cost calculator works out what your fence needs from your boundary length or land area: a Q-Knot™ fixed knot fence or ZS-Knot™ design, and the rolls, posts and toppings, beside the posts conventional galvanised chain link would need. It asks eight short questions, and your price comes on WhatsApp.
- Tell us about your land.
- See the fence it needs, with posts and rolls worked out.
- Get your price on WhatsApp from the SIMO Securon team.

What sets the price of your fence
- the boundary length, and its corners and gates
- the height and the grade (Alpha, Zeta Nova or Pi)
- the ground, and the posts and foundations it needs
- toppings: RTHT barbed wire or concertina coil
- supply only, or supplied and installed by SIMO’s crews
Send these to the team and your exact price comes back on WhatsApp or by phone.
More about the fencing cost calculator
How does the fencing cost calculator work?
The estimator asks one question at a time and builds your fence on screen as you answer.
- Tell us about the site: what you are protecting, what the fence must keep out, anything you want on top, and how big it is, as a boundary length or an area in acres, guntha, hectares or square feet.
- Choose how long it must last, say where the site is, and who installs it. Your fence builds up on screen as you answer: grade, technology, height, toppings and quantities.
- Get your price on WhatsApp: leave your name and mobile number, and send the message with your reference code from your own phone. Our team replies with the price.
How does it choose the fence?
- What it keeps out decides the technology. Animals: the Q-Knot fixed knot fence, with the graduated grid, tightest at the bottom where boar and small animals push. For nilgai and cattle, SIMO Securon suggests Zeta Nova or Alpha at 6 ft; Pi suits wild boar and smaller animals. People: the ZS-Knot (Anti Climb) 4 x 2 inch grid, with RTHT barbed wire or concertina coil on top. Which height suits which animals: see how to protect crops from nilgai and wild boar and the cattle fencing guide.
- How long it must last decides the grade, by rated life: Pi for 10 years; Zeta Nova for 20 years; Alpha for 35 years or more. ZS-Knot is made in Alpha and Zeta Nova only.
- The site sets the starting design, from SIMO Securon’s suggested designs by site type: farm, plot and farmhouse, solar park or factory and data centre. You can change the toppings.
How are the posts and rolls counted?
- Boundary length: as you give it, or from the area and the shape of the plot. A square plot of area A has a boundary of 4 times the square root of A; a rectangle three times as long as it is wide has a longer one.
- Posts (poles): an intermediate post every 5 metres, and a strain post at every corner where the fence is pulled tight, at every 10th post along a straight run, and on each side of every gate. An open run has a strain post at each end.
- Rolls: the boundary length divided by the roll length, rounded up, for the roll lengths made in your grade and height.
- Toppings: RTHT barbed wire per strand, and concertina coil, along the whole boundary.
- Against chain link: the same boundary with conventional galvanised chain link, counted at a post every 2.5 metres (chain link posts stand 2.5 to 3 metres apart). Why the gap differs: knotted fence vs chain link.
Worked example: how many posts for 1 acre?
A square one-acre plot is about 64 metres a side and about 255 metres around. At a post every 5 metres that is about 51 posts, against about 102 for conventional galvanised chain link at a post every 2.5 metres. The calculator counts each side on its own, rounds it up, and adds a strain post at each corner and every 10th post, so for a square acre with four corners and no gate it shows 52 posts, against 104 for chain link.
| One square acre, about 255 m around | Rolls | Roll length |
|---|---|---|
| SIMO Securon Alpha, Q-Knot | 6 | 50 m |
| SIMO Securon Zeta Nova, Q-Knot | 9 | 30 m |
| SIMO Securon Pi, Q-Knot | 9 | 100 ft (30.5 m) |
| RTHT barbed wire, per strand | 1.3 bundles (round the total for all strands up) | 200 m, 12 to 13 kg |
For 5 acres, square, with four corners and one gate, the calculator counts 118 posts in all, against 230 for conventional galvanised chain link. The full method, per acre, per metre, per sq ft and per km, and how to compare quotes, is in fencing cost in India.
What if the site is near the coast?
ISO 9223 grades how corrosive the air is, from C1 (very low) to C5 and CX (very high and extreme). C1 to C3 typically covers inland rural areas, towns and cities, and light industry. Sites within 20 km of the coast, and chemically aggressive sites, are usually C4 or above and need a site-specific recommendation. Tick the box on the screen that asks where the site is, and the estimator flags it for the team, who will advise.
Highways, railways and utility corridors
Corridor fencing is built to the authority's specification and drawings. Send us the tender or specification, and we reply with a design and quantities to match it.
Thank you. We have your request.

FAQ
Fencing cost calculator questions
Why don't you show the price on screen?
Prices depend on the site, the grade, the height and the service, and SIMO Securon wants a real person to check them. Sending your reference code on WhatsApp from your own number confirms the number, and the team replies with your price and answers any questions.
Can I see the quantities without giving my number?
Yes. The grade, height, rolls, posts and toppings build up on screen as you answer, with the posts conventional galvanised chain link would need. Your name and mobile number are needed only for the price, which the SIMO Securon team sends on WhatsApp.
How accurate are the quantities?
They are for planning. The estimator counts an intermediate post every 5 metres, and a strain post at every corner, every 10th post and each side of a gate. If you give an area, set the shape of the plot: a long, narrow plot has a longer boundary than a square one. SIMO Securon confirms the final quantities after a survey or a call.
Does the calculator work for solar parks and factories?
Yes. Choose solar park, or factory, warehouse or data centre, and the estimator starts from SIMO Securon's suggested design for that site, such as the ZS-Knot 4 x 2 inch anti-climb grid with RTHT barbed wire and concertina coil where people are the threat. Highways, railways and utility corridors go to a specification enquiry instead.
What does the reference code do?
It links your WhatsApp message to your estimate, so the team can see your answers, the recommended design and the quantities without asking you again.
Rather talk it through?
Send your site type, PIN code and boundary length on WhatsApp, or call us. The team will recommend a design and send a price.
