Fencing contractor in Telangana: wild boar on farms, and industrial perimeters

Wild boar are a statewide problem. Field trials across ten agro-ecological locations of Telangana by the vertebrate pest management network at the state’s agricultural university recorded an average of 29.1 percent damage in plots left unfenced. Monkeys are the other: officials estimate nearly five million in the state, and in Medak farmers have stayed with paddy rather than grow maize, jowar or groundnut because of damage from monkeys, wild boars and peacocks. Peafowl rank third for crop damage in Telangana, after monkeys and wild boars. In 2024 a wild elephant entered Telangana for the first time, in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district; the state has no resident wild elephants.
